The Lights are Out, the Party's Over

We've been experiencing intermittent power outages for the last 6 weeks or so. It usually isn't more than four times a week, but it is usually all day, or all night, when it happens. To beat the heat, Benjamin likes to strip down and soak in a cold sink of water around noon. I wish I was still that little!

I do wish you would pray for the people of Abidjan. Many people make a meager living by selling frozen juice or sewing or many other things that require electricity. These days really hurt them. This has also led to a city wide water shortage which is very difficult for those that don't have enough money to go buy water on days when there is not enough to drink.

With Love,
Heather

Well so much for the idea that baby number 3 won't be as photographed as his siblings!

Old Friends and New Friends

In the back of a taxi on the way to make some visits are Benjamin and his new friend Kylee.

Caleb is still enjoying learning to play tennis.

This month we enjoyed visits from our friends, Deron and MaryBeth, that lived in Abidjan when we arrived. They've been in South Africa for almost a year now, so we got to meet their new baby. We also enjoyed have the Singermans with us. In what is an ever changing life, we were glad to reconnect with old friends and connect with new ones!

Jumping

With a cloudy political climate, here's one of our little rays of sunshine. He loves the little jumper Gramma sent. Our Benjamin is never still. Even if he's in your arms, he's "running" and "jumping" and "flying".

Our love to all,
Heather

This one was taken a week and a half ago when Benjamin met his new friend Kylee.

3 Month Old Ben

I've been trying to see if I can get video uploaded, so tell me how this works for you. It is about a month old, but thought I'd give it a go.

4 Months and Counting

Our little Benjamin is four months old. Hard for us to believe, so I know it is for you too. We've been enjoying a lot of company over the last couple of weeks. Several missionaries have come to spend a week or two here that we haven't seen in a while.

We're still working on language, which takes most of our time. Mike and teammate Jon visited a new area this week and were encouraged to find people asking to hear the "stories".

I send out a monthly prayer letter by email. If you'd like to hear more about our ministry experiences and how you can pray for the people of Abidjan, I'd love to add you to our email list.
