COVID-19

The news on a good day is enough to scare a sane person and leave anyone slightly unstable muttering to themselves, no comments about which I am. The news these days has sent millions in search of the ever elusive TP, Lysol and Hand Sanitizer. You'd think we were looking for unicorns and big foot based on the results of our search. Maybe one day we'll be telling stories to our grandkids of those things that once existed but disappeared into thin air when the Corona Virus came to change everything.

I don't have answers for the big questions like, to close or not to close, but I do know that a lot of people of all ages are finding that they have a little extra time on their hands with so many activities cancelled. There is a plethora of information online on how you could spend that extra time. You could probably fill the next several months just looking through all of the suggestions of what to do with your free time. I was asked to look into some ideas floating around that might be of interest to others and thought somebody might be interested in what I found. Mostly I'm just trying to make myself feel better for having spent 2 full workdays looking for this information only to have a supervisor change his mind about wanting the info. If I post it here, I can at least pretend somebody might see it and get benefit from it. So, thanks for playing along with my little fairy tale.

I'll put up several posts dividing what I found into categories.  Please know that whoever stumbles on this needs to know that most of this is just fun or helpful things that you can do. I hope that you know from my online presence that no matter what crisis or celebration is in front of us at this moment, there is only one hope for our every day. Our life is fleeting whether it is weeks long or maybe even a century. In all things, our hearts are seeking a purpose, a love that is only found in God. Exhibit A: We live in a broken world. Everybody gets that right now more than ever in my life time. But that was not how God created it. He created everything good and perfect. However man choose to disobey God and go his own way. Because God is Holy, man's disobedience/rebellion separates us from God. The immediate consequence for our actions are brokenness, suffering,  and ultimate and permanent separation from God. God loves us, so He made a way for us to be forgiven for our rebellion and have a restored relationship with Him. His Son, Jesus, came, lived a perfect life, and took the punishment/paid the price for our wrongs so that we can be redeemed. We do so by turning away from our rebellion and bad behavior and following Christ as our Lord and King, giving him complete authority of all that we do. When we do that through faith, our relationship with God is restored. We experience peace with God and can look forward to His presence in our daily life and eternal life to come. We want to share this good news with everyone. If you are walking through these desperate days without Christ, you don't need a distraction, you need a Savior.

Still serving Him,
Heather

Wow! 2 Years!

I don't know how to fill this gap. Two years is a long time. We've changed continents. We've changed jobs. We are learning how to live in the US again. I never really meant to post here again, but here I am.
